Last week, FLOC was interviewed by Ariane Datil from WUSA9 for a story on tutoring services offered in the DC area, and how Covid-19 has affected those services. She was wondering if the global pandemic and subsequent result of home-schooling and virtual learning had caused an increased demand for beyond-the-classroom tutoring services.
With many school districts across the DMV announcing virtual learning programs to start the 2020-2021 school year, Datil found that many parents are increasingly more worried that their children are going to fall behind in the virtual classroom. That panic has led to an increase in demand for tutoring services, but not everyone can afford such a luxury. Enter: FLOC.
To know if you are eligible for FLOC’s free tutoring program, you just need to answer these simple questions.
- Are you a DC Resident?
- Is your student at least 6 months behind in math or reading?
- Do you meet FLOC’s income requirements?
If you said yes to all of the above, then you qualify for FLOC’s free, year-long tutoring services! As FLOC is gearing up for Fall Virtual Tutoring services, we want to make sure we can help as many students and their families as we can.
