FLOC Volunteers are what make our program special. Through giving individual attention to each student and building lasting relationships, our volunteers show our students respect, love, and care.
To be a volunteer, you do not need any special training, we provide all needed training. All you have to do is be ready to commit for an academic year to meet with your student two hours a week in a session we lead. During COVID, all of our sessions are virtually led.
Volunteers can serve the Neighborhood Tutoring Program as a tutor, tester, or substitute tutor. Or, the JBG SMITH City Leaders Program as a Project Based Learning Coach, PSAT/SAT Coach, or a College & Career Readiness Coach.
