FLOC offers FREE virtual one-on-one intervention tutoring or FREE virtual one-on-one college and career coaching guidance and PSAT/SAT prep to DC- based students who are eligibile for FDPIR, TANF, SNAP, or Medicaid.

Tailored to your student

Every student is different. FLOC allows students to work through lessons at their own pace so that they can learn the skills need while gaining confidence in their ability to succeed.

Proven to work

FLOC's Neighborhood Tutoring Program teaches students foundational reading and math skills through the evidence-based Wilson Reading System and common core-aligned FLOC Math. After just 28 hours of tutoring, FLOC students improve on average one grade level in reading and/or math.

College & career coaching

Work one-on-one through FAFSA, college, and scholarship applications; personal statements, and more. Students will also learn about different career paths, workforce development, and how to achieve post-secondary success. (Wed or Thur from 5:30–7:30 PM)

PSAT/SAT Prep

Work in small groups through proven PSAT/SAT curiculum. Students will cover all major subject areas with practice exercises, and test strategies. (Tuesdays from 5:30–7:30 PM)

Fred Taylor Scholarship

After 2 years in FLOC's programs, students are eligible for a Fred Taylor Scholarship to assist in post-secondary tuition/costs
