February Family Newsletter

FLOC Families,

Spring semester is off to a great start, and we some exciting things in store for this semester. Starting with FLOC’s upcoming Annual Read-a-Thon, which will run from March 1st through March 31st.

NTP Update

NTP student and February Book Buddy Teagan said the most important lesson she’s ever learned was her 10s and 20s multiplication tables. Before joining FLOC programs, multiplication did not come easily to Teagan, but with the help of her tutor, she now knows 6 different multiplication tables (and counting)! Teagan was chosen to be a Book Buddy this month Teagan was chosen because of her involvement and enthusiasm in joining all things FLOC. She’s quick to participate and lend a helping hand and she’s burst of energy and joy. Keep it up Teagan!

Meet the team!

Meet our newest Program Coordinator, Anne Storck! Anne graduated from Purdue University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Classical Studies. She has a deep passion for world cultures and teaching and hopes that through working with FLOC she can share her passion for learning with our students. Anne loves that FLOC programs make learning fun. A fun fact about Anne is that she can touch her tongue to her nose! Welcome to the family Anne, we can’t wait to see where you take this role!

Looking Ahead

March is National Reading Month and also FLOC’s Annual Read-a-Thon! Send in photos/videos of your student reading or telling us about their favorite book for the chance to be featured on FLOC’s social media! Photos/videos can be sent to mroberts@floc.org.
