We are soaring this school year at FLOC! From enrollment to student achievement to capacity building, FLOC is busy celebrating many wins. Just yesterday, we participated in Give to the Max Day with amazing results. From midnight to midnight yesterday, November 9th, non-profits across the Greater Washington area came together and raised nearly $2 million to support great causes. FLOC friends, new and old, rallied to raise an incredible $86,974 to support FLOC. We finished in first place for amount of money raised by a single organization. Plus, we will be awarded an additional $27,000 in Give to the Max Day awards from Razoo, the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region and the United Wayof the National Capital Area. We are extremely grateful to all those who contributed and helped us spread the word. Thank you!
However, resources are just the beginning. We are proud to announce that we have enrolled more students this year than ever before in our award-winning after-school programs. Nearly 500 students will participate in our after-school tutoring and college preparatory programs this school year, and we are still enrolling students. Our tutor numbers are also through the roof. So far this year, more tutors than ever signed up to serve our students.
Remember, every volunteer at FLOC is another student we can serve (there is still a waitlist for FLOC services!) and every dollar raised is more great work we can do in our community. Thank you for helping us continue to reach to the max this school year!
