Leaders in Action (LIA) program as part of FLOC Outdoor Education Center (OEC) in West Virginia has been active the last few weeks as our students learn about healthy living and becoming more engaged in the community. LIA students from both Charles Town Middle and Harpers Ferry Middle School’s took a field trip to Sam Michael’s Park, which is part of Jefferson County Parks and Recreation.
Guest Speaker, Katie Nolan from Freedoms Run Race series, joined our students to teach about mobility and the importance of healthy feet and how to improve both of these things in fun and engaging activities. Students walked away wanting to go back again to use the large gym and play area that the parks district was generous enough to gift to FLOC.
