Environmental Education Summer Camp

Each year, when we celebrate Earth Day in April, we are reminded of ways we can go green and help the environment. Environmental education and protection are vital in today’s growing world. This is why FLOC is so excited to announce it’s new FREE summer camp, Environmental Education Program.

When:

JUNE 17 – JULY 26: 2ND – 12TH GRADE
JULY 29 – AUGUST 2: 9TH – 12 GRADE ONLY
MONDAY – FRIDAY 9 AM – 4 PM

Eligibility:

  • Washington DC Resident
  • 2nd-12th grade
  • Eligible for free or reduced lunch

Here are some of the exciting things you will do:

Weeks 1-2: Wilderness and The Great Outdoors

  • Hiking
  • Journal and Goal Setting
  • Photography in Nature

Weeks 3-4: Nature’s Calling

  • Environmental Education Workshops
  • Group Watershed Experiment
  • Community Service

Weeks 5-6: Survival of the fittest

  • Discover Rock Creek Park
  • Backing and camping
  • Survival Techniques Course

Week 7: High School Camp Only

  • Overnight Excursions
  • Chaperone required
