FLOC’s Summer Learning Program

Despite the uncertainty of COVID-19, FLOC has put a plan in place to ensure that our students continue to receive the support they need through distance learning. In following with health and safety guidelines, FLOC’s Summer Learning Program will be going virtual. One-on-one tutoring applications are now open for students and volunteers. We look forward to (virtually) seeing you all this summer!

Sign your student up now and reserve a spot for one-on-one tutoring. Students are able to register for both individual math and reading sessions. Each session will be once per week for 2 hours (either 1:30-3:00 PM and 6:30-8:00 PM). Students will also have access to daily electives, facilitated Monday through Thursday at 12:30 pm via zoom. Students will have a chance to win a gift card at the end of each week by texting the Word of the Week (given during electives & story-time). Sign your student up here.

Now, more than ever, we need volunteers to support our students. Choose as many sessions as you are available on a weekly basis. Sessions are at 1:30 pm and 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday for 2 hours per week on Zoom. You can choose to tutor a student in math or reading (or both!). Tutors will receive curriculum, supplemental materials and have direct access to FLOC staff in support of their session. Sign up to be a Summer tutor here.

FLOC hosts Storytime every Friday at 10 AM on Instagram. Join as a guest and read a story to FLOC students! You can either pre-record a video or read live! Sign up for storytime here.
