For Love of Children Announces New Executive Director

WASHINGTON (March 9, 2023) – For Love of Children (FLOC), a longstanding nonprofit organization that provides free educational services for  students in Washington, D.C., announced that LaToya Clark has been named as Executive Director, effective immediately.

Ms. Clark brings more than 17 years of experience as a nonprofit leader and business operations professional to the position. For the past three years, she has held key leadership roles at FLOC, including Acting Executive Director, Deputy Director, and HR Business Manager. Ms. Clark played a pivotal role in shepherding FLOC through the COVID-19 pandemic, which threatened many nonprofits’ ability to raise funds and deliver programming. During this time, she effectively enhanced FLOC’s sustainability, developing new revenue streams, reducing overhead costs, and increasing investments in staff.

“LaToya is a proven senior executive and an excellent strategic thinker,” said Sanjay Mitchell, the Chair of FLOC’s Board of Directors. “She has gone above and beyond as Acting Executive Director, bringing in new resources and establishing exciting partnerships to expand FLOC’s reach. The board and I truly believe in her leadership.”

For 57 years, FLOC has provided educational support and services beyond the classroom to help students succeed from second grade through college and career. Since its founding, FLOC has served more than 10,000 students in D.C. Under Ms. Clark’s leadership, FLOC recently secured a new partnership with The Adams Morgan Community Center that will significantly increase the number of students it serves each year.

“I could not be more grateful to accept this role as Executive Director of an organization that I love so much,” said Ms. Clark. “I am committed to working tirelessly alongside our talented team members and dedicated volunteers. Together, we will continue to pursue our mission to provide young people with the tools they need to transform their lives.”

Please join the Board of Directors of FLOC in welcoming LaToya Clark into her new role.
