It requires a lot of practice and focused attention. As opposed to past years where students received both reading and math prep in one night, this year students will work on one subject for six weeks and then rotate, to ensure quality instruction of each subject. \u00a0And with the expanded number of volunteers working in SAT prep, students are able to work in smaller groups and receive more personalized instruction.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5072\" src=\"https:\/\/floc.org\/flocold2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/photo-oct-23-1-02-40-pm-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/floc.org\/flocold2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/photo-oct-23-1-02-40-pm-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/floc.org\/flocold2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/photo-oct-23-1-02-40-pm-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/floc.org\/flocold2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/photo-oct-23-1-02-40-pm-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/floc.org\/flocold2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/photo-oct-23-1-02-40-pm.jpg 1264w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although still in its first few weeks, student have mastered new concepts such as\u00a0sentence completion and number theory as a result of our volunteer SAT Coaches and\u00a0this new, more individualized\u00a0attention. \u00a0We look forward to seeing continued growth as the weeks continue!<\/p>\n<p><em>(Kimberly Davis is the College Access Coordinator for the FLOC Scholars Program.)<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Preparing for the SAT exam is a daunting process for many students.
