She grew up in Paris; her father is French and her mom is American. Caroline currently works at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forloveofchildren.wordpress.com\/2014\/05\/15\/meet-caroline-fichtenberg\/www.childrensdefense.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Children\u2019s Defense Fund<\/a>, a national child advocacy organization. She places high value in education and helping children succeed in school.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forloveofchildren.wordpress.com\/2014\/05\/15\/meet-caroline-fichtenberg\/floc.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FLOC<\/a>\u00a0seemed like a great program and a perfect fit for her.\u00a0She joined our team last fall. Since then, she has been in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/floc.org\/flocold2020\/our-programs\/floc-scholars-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scholars program<\/a>\u00a0every Wednesday as a Program Assistant where she assists Jessie, our 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0grade instructor, to facilitate fun workshops for the students to help them start thinking about their future academic and professional goals.<\/p>\n<p>Caroline enjoys spending time at FLOC because of its fun environment \u201cwhere I see the Scholars\u2019 positive energy of possibility and achievement.\u201d For Caroline, spending time with youth has been a refreshing and inspiring experience.<\/p>\n<p>One of her favorite activities while working with the group of 10<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>graders is when they play Jeopardy, which helps them to \u201ctalk about issues and reinforce ideas that we\u2019re working with. They work together and you see what they have learned and what they are thinking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Caroline, the Jeopardy game\u00a0\u201cis a good way to see their curiosity to learn and share what they know. She represented\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forloveofchildren.wordpress.com\/2014\/05\/15\/meet-caroline-fichtenberg\/www.princeton.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Princeton University<\/a>, her alma mater, and participated in a speed networking activity with the post-secondary Scholars during the last\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forloveofchildren.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/14\/a-look-at-college-night-2013\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">College Night<\/a>, held on December 18<sup>th<\/sup>.
