This past week our students worked on a team-building icebreaker. Given only a 6\u201d by 6\u201d piece of\u00a0aluminum foil, the seventh-graders showed off their\u00a0careful planning and goal setting\u00a0skills by competing\u00a0to construct\u00a0a boat that would hold the largest amount of cents without sinking.\u00a0While the winners triumphed with a whopping 45 pennies, all of the Scholars worked hard to strategically craft their boats with creativity and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Celestina Lee is a Scholars Program Instructor at FLOC).<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For Love of Children (FLOC) 7th\u00a0grade Scholars curriculum focuses on teamwork, goal setting and preparing for the future.
