Located in a beautiful, historic building near Dupont Circle, the WNDC provides a unique venue for FLOC\u2019s students to tutor. We are proud and humbled to hold program in a space that has hosted such illustrious guests as Eleanor Holmes Norton, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Michelle Obama.<\/p>\n<p>After years of growing popularity in our evening programs, FLOC realized that interest in our program was quickly outpacing our building\u2019s capacity. The generous club members at the WNDC have provided the space that has allowed us to serve an additional 25 students this year. In addition, the rotating art galleries, museum artifacts, and frequent events allow our adolescent students to both tutor in a more mature space and gain exposure to a wide range of cultural artifacts.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of this year, many of our students were apprehensive about tutoring in a building that felt so fancy. Several speculated about the presence of ghosts in such an old building. Luckily, the space has proven to be nothing but a warm environment in which our students have grown comfortable. Today, many say that they couldn\u2019t imagine tutoring anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p>FLOC would like to especially thank the tireless efforts of Sharon Newsome, who has provided us with everything we could have asked for.
