Kara Jerez works in the recruitment and outreach department and is a reading tutor this summer.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Q: Where are you from?<\/p>\n<p>A: I\u2019m from Nutley, New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>Q: Where do you go to school and what do you major in?<\/p>\n<p>A: I go to Susquehanna University. I\u2019m entering my senior year and double majoring in public relations and studio art, with a minor in advertising.<\/p>\n<p>Q: How did you hear about FLOC?<\/p>\n<p>A: I heard about it through the Lutheran College Washington Semester.<\/p>\n<p>Q: What do you do as the Recruitment and Outreach Intern?<\/p>\n<p>A: My biggest project is coming up with a business outreach program and doing research.<\/p>\n<p>Q: What have you learned here and what were some challenges you faced?<\/p>\n<p>A: I think the biggest challenge has been tutoring. It has really helped my people skills. I\u2019ve also improved my writing and communication skills here.<\/p>\n<p>Q: What\u2019s your favorite thing about working here?<\/p>\n<p>A: The people.<\/p>\n<p>Q: What are your plans after college?<\/p>\n<p>A: I\u2019m thinking about grad schools, but I\u2019m not sure about that yet. I\u2019d like to continue working in a communications department at a nonprofit.
