I\u2019ll teach you how to get rid of an improper fraction<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll teach you how to add and subtract<\/p>\n

Then multiply and divide<\/p>\n

Fraction-what\u2019s that<\/p>\n

This is a rap I wrote about fractions<\/p>\n

Multiply and divide, addition and subtraction<\/p>\n

With addition and subtraction it\u2019s pretty cool<\/p>\n

Because for the both of them, you follow the same rule<\/p>\n

If it\u2019s improper you\u2019re gonna have to change it to a mixed number<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be the one to explain that<\/p>\n

Improper is when the top number is bigger than the bottom<\/p>\n

You gotta take the bottom and fit it into the top<\/p>\n

Say the bottom is 4 and the top is 18<\/p>\n

How many times does 4 fit in between<\/p>\n

Well let\u2019s see that\u2019s 4 so take that 4<\/p>\n

And write it big on the line<\/p>\n

With 2 left over from the 18<\/p>\n

Put that 2 on top of the 3\u2014and wow, it\u2019s that easy (easy)<\/p>\n

Listen to this song and you\u2019ll believe me<\/p>\n

You look at the bottom of fraction one and fraction two<\/p>\n

Then find the lowest number that they both go in to<\/p>\n

You gotta be fair to both the bottom and top<\/p>\n

So if you multiply the bottom then you gotta do the top<\/p>\n

Then you can add or subtract<\/p>\n

Just like that<\/p>\n

Multiplication and division the same rules go<\/p>\n

Naaaaaw sike-I\u2019m just playin\u2019 but I rap for real though<\/p>\n

The first step requires a very special action<\/p>\n

If you have a mixed number you gotta transform it into an improper fraction<\/p>\n

The next step is easy as pie<\/p>\n

\u2018Cross the bottom and the top<\/p>\n

Then you simplify<\/p>\n

Division\u2019s gonna try and be all difficult<\/p>\n

You gotta take the second fraction and find the reciprocal<\/p>\n

Then multiply and simplify just like you did before<\/p>\n
