FLOC Book Festival – November 8th

For Love of Children’s Annual Book Festival is an opportunity for students and their families to celebrate and promote the importance of reading and literacy. Students from first grade through high school are able to select books to take home to read and share with their parents and siblings. The books are provided to the students free of charge.

This year, our guest reader is Heather Burris, author is Hair Like Me.

Research by the NCES has shown that a positive correlation between the numbers of books a child has access to at home and academic achievement among low-income students. FLOC has given away over 1,500 books at past successful book festival events. JBG Smith is the presenting sponsor for the 2019 event.

Please RSVP here or email Claire at ctraveline@floc.org.
